National Universities Commission (NUC) has conducted an audit of Part-Time and Sandwich Programmes at the Lagos State University, Ojo.
According to NUC, the exercise is carried out to determine the status of the programmes in line with the Commission’s mandate of conducting investigations relating to higher education.
The two (2) man team from NUC, Ochudo Ayi – the team lead, and Odega Chibuzor were received by Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, Vice Chancellor in company of other members of the University Management and functionaries of the University.
Olatunji-Bello while receiving the delegation, assured them of unflinching support throughout the period of the exercise.
She further reassured the team on inspection, that the University has, to a large extent, followed the directives of the National Universities Commission (NUC) with regards to the operations of the two programmes – School of Part Time Studies (SPTS) and Sandwich Degree Programme.
Ochudo Ayi, the NUC inspection Officer in her speech averred that the main aim of visiting was to ensure that all programmes are active and there are adequate facilities to carry out the programme and to point out obstacles faced by the programme.
While giving a feedback on the assignment, the team lead, Ochudo Ayi expressed her satisfaction with the programmes, noting that the Part-Time and Sandwich Programmes are very robust and the resources are sufficient which is impressive.
Directors of the SPTS and Sandwich Degree Programmes, Oguntola Danoye-Laguda and John Adeogun, respectively, Dean, Faculty of Education, Solomon Makinde as well as members of the University Management attended the exit meeting.
